This time I wanted to get a surfer point-of-view into waves and how they evolve and propagate in natural conditions. I bought a book called Surf Science by Butt, Russell, Grig. It was a quite lightweight explanation on basics of waves in different circumstances. I also learned something about wave qualities that make them ideal for surfing. The book is clearly designed for audience that is not so familiar with scientific and mathematical approach on this subject. It is easy to read and actually probably tells me the majority of the facts about waves that I need to know in this thesis work. If you don't know, where the waves in oceans come from and you have always wanted to know that, I would recommend to glance through this book.
